About Us: Cafe Mado is an all day cafe from the Redwood Hospitality, the team behind Oxalis, Place des Fêtes, Laurel Bakery, and Golden Ratio. This cafe is more than just a cafe, as it is taking over the home of our Michelin-starred Oxalis (while Oxalis moves to a new location), bringing a more casual but similarly thoughtful and hospitaliy offering to a neighborhood we have called home for over six years.

Job Summary:   As a Barista at Cafe Mado, you will be the heart of our customer experience, responsible for crafting delicious coffee and tea beverages and serving our baked pastries and breads while providing friendly and efficient service. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive and welcoming environment for our guests. For this position, we are looking for someone with open availability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee and tea beverages to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Provide excellent customer service, including handling inquiries and providing recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and seating areas.
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet the bakery's goals and uphold our community-focused ethos.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
• Passion for coffee and enthusiasm for learning about our products and menu.
• Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of specialty coffee and tea preparations
• Ability to dial in an espresso machine and grinder
• Responsible and cleanly workplace habits
• Milk frothing skill 
• Cash handling skills
• Ability to work early mornings and weekends
