Job Summary:

As a Dietary Aide at Polaris, you play a vital role in providing our residents with nutritious, well-balanced meals tailored to their health needs and preferences. You’ll support the kitchen team in food preparation, service, sanitation, and inventory, all while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming dining experience that promotes our residents’ overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

Food Preparation & Service:

  • Prepare and serve meals according to specified dietary requirements and portion sizes
  • Follow recipes and maintain a clean, sanitary cooking environment
  • Assemble meal trays accurately and accommodate resident substitutions as needed
  • Serve snacks and beverages between meals as directed
  • Assist with special diets, food allergies, and therapeutic meal plans

Sanitation & Maintenance:

  • Sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, and utensils regularly
  • Clean serving areas, mop floors, and dispose of trash according to safety standards
  • Maintain a safe, organized kitchen and food storage environment

Other Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to address residents’ dietary concerns
  • Review menus and ensure trays match diet orders
  • Help train new nutrition services staff and students
  • Monitor and restock supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience in food service or healthcare dietary support preferred but not required—we will train the right candidate!
