The Supervisor I (Specialist) serves as the Department of FISCal’s (FI$Cal) Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Officer responsible for objectively monitoring and assessing personnel policies and practices. The EEO Officer will develop, coordinate, and conduct FI$Cal’s internal investigations as related to the equal employment opportunity program. Additionally, the EEO Officer will oversee FI$Cal’s equity program and is a vital role in the department’s Disability Advisory Committee (DAC).
The EEO Officer keeps the Director informed on investigation progress, equity initiatives, and DAC activities, helping to maintain an inclusive and accessible workplace.

At FI$Cal, we currently offer a remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework up to three days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days and is subject to change. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.
This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. All staff must maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance, maintain good working habits and adhere to all policies and procedures.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
Experience and training conducting investigations and developing an investigation plan
Experience working with a legal office or human resources office regarding employment matters as part of the regular course of assigned functions
Experience drafting employment policies and procedures
Experience working with equity policies and procedures
Disability Advisory Committee experience
