Field Service Diesel Technician — Heavy Equipment & Hydraulics

Toledo, OH / Southeast Michigan

Compensation: $25–$35/hr + Overtime + Service Truck

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM, with some Saturday OT

A day in the life

Roll out at 7:00 AM, load up your company service truck, and head to one of four nearby locations—most days in Toledo, with occasional runs across Southeast Michigan, all within a 50–60 mile radius. Before lunch, you might diagnose a hydraulic leak on a skid steer and swap a blade on a shear. By afternoon, it’s electrical troubleshooting on a forklift followed by final performance testing and documentation. You wrap by organizing tools and coordinating the next day’s plan with the team.

Core responsibilities

• Maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered heavy equipment (skid steers, cranes, forklifts, shears).
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems to root cause.
• Perform engine service, component swaps, and blade replacements.
• Inspect, test, and document repairs for safety, compliance, and performance.
• Keep tools, truck, and work areas in safe, ready-to-work condition.
• Coordinate with teammates and management to maximize uptime and turnaround.

What you bring

• 3+ years of experience as a diesel or heavy equipment mechanic.
• Strong hydraulic and electrical diagnostics capability.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Self-starter who can work independently and stay dependable in the field.
• Own basic tools; additional tools provided as needed.
