Now Hiring: Pattern Shop Technician – Minster, Ohio

C.A. Lawton Co. in Minster, OH is seeking a Pattern Shop Technician (Pattern Maker) to join our foundry operations team. In this role, you’ll learn from experienced team members while working on both individual and group projects. You’ll use a variety of equipment and hand tools to design, build, and maintain tooling for foundry castings- directly contributing to the success of our operation.  This is a hands-on position with opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact in a supportive team environment.

Pay & Schedule:

• $25–$30 per hour (based on experience)
• 1st Shift : Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM (overtime as needed)

What You’ll Do:

• Operate machinery, equipment, and hand tools
• Design, build, and maintain tooling
• Read blueprints and produce precision tooling
• Work with foam, wood, and/or urethane for prototypes or single-use castings
• Support foundry operations by understanding processes and workflows
• Contribute continuous improvement ideas
• Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong record of safety, quality, and reliability
• Team player with solid communication skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools
• Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and follow instructions
• Organized and detail-oriented with basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CNC or mill experience a plus
• 2–5 years of experience in woodworking, prototype design, machining, 3D modeling, programming, or pattern making preferred
