Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. This position requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all diesel-powered equipment operates at optimal performance levels. Duties:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Repair or replace components such as air brakes, electrical systems and hydraulic systems.
  • Inform management personnel of problems experienced with repairs.
  • Obtain necessary information for warranty repairs.
  • Tag warranty parts
  • Time record of each operation performed.
  • Conduct welding and soldering tasks as necessary for equipment repair.
  • Align, suspend, and adjust machinery to ensure proper functionality.
  • Work on farm machinery and cranes as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance equipment reliability.
  • Attend factory sponsored training classes (travel required).
  • Clean work bay area, immediately after each job.
  • Inform the shop foreman if you do not know how to perform a repair procedure.
Skills:
  • Proficient in equipment repair, including diesel engines and related systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, air brake systems, and hydraulic components.
  • Experience with welding and soldering for metal repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Familiarity with farm machinery operations and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively within team environment.
  • Computer skills.
  • Provide adequate tools to perform these repairs.
  • Able to eff3ectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Able to move freely throughout the service department.
  • Willingness to learn new repair techniques.
  • Willingness to become certified and advance in diesel technology.
