Register your interest in Crown & Current

Crown and Current is a swimming and hair care programme in Leicester for young people aged 9 to 16 who are in foster, kinship or special guardianship care. Sessions run on Thursday evenings, and carers are welcome alongside the young people they look after.

Registering interest does not commit you to a place. It tells us who wants one, and lets us come back to you with dates and joining details.

Tell us about your young person

It takes about three minutes. One form per young person, so please fill it in again if you are registering more than one.

Leave blank if you are registering as a parent.

Initials are fine if you would rather not give a name yet.

Crown and Current is for young people aged 9 to 16.

Please tell us anything our coaches need in order to keep them safe in the water, for example asthma, epilepsy, allergies, heart conditions, hearing aids, sensory or additional needs. Write None if there are none.

Optional. For example locs, braids, a protective style, or a scalp condition. This helps us plan the hair care workshops.

Why we ask about health

We ask about medical, health and access needs for one reason: so the people teaching your young person to swim know how to keep them safe. Asthma, epilepsy, allergies and additional needs all change how a session is run.

These details are seen only by the Crown and Current delivery team and the qualified instructor. We do not share them with anyone else without asking you first, and we delete them when the programme ends. You can ask us to remove your details at any point by emailing enquiries@blackfostercarersalliance.co.uk.
