BFCA’s mentoring programmes are grounded in lived experience and cultural competence. Whether you’re a foster carer navigating a transracial placement or a global majority carer seeking peer support, we connect you with mentors who understand.
Tell us a little about what you need, and we’ll match you with the right support.
BFCA offers two mentoring streams:
Cultural Mentoring — For children and young people in transracial placements. Builds cultural identity, belonging and confidence through mentors who share their heritage.
Carer Peer Mentoring — For global majority foster carers. One-to-one support from experienced carers who understand the realities of fostering through a cultural lens.
If your needs sit outside these two streams — kinship and SGO support, professional reflective mentoring, or anything else — we’d still like to hear from you. Get in touch and we’ll talk through what we can offer or signpost you to the right support.
